Day 1 - 5 months to go

I've been terrified ever since I found out I had a place. I'm not a long distance runner in any shape or form (as my muscly bulk makes clear) and this is going to be an absolutely massive challenge.

I'm going to try and keep writing a blog all the way up to the marathon (April 21st 2013 - be there!) partly to help me get my head sorted about training and fundraising, and partly to entertain anyone else who cares!

Since Wednesday I've managed to go on three runs and have realised how much work there is to be done. It's difficult going on a half hour run and realising that the real thing will be the same, but ten times over. It's very difficult to keep reminding yourself you've got five months to try and get yourself sorted! Hopefully this week will see me run further and do some leg work, and hopefully get four runs in rather than three.

£2,500 is a massive target and it's going to take a huge effort to reach it. They've taken my credit card details so they can take the rest of the sponsorship if I don't hit the target so I'll need absolutely every penny I can get as there's nothing in my account... Wish me luck!
